These Terms govern your use of MapAds (the “Service”), including the map, the flag log, checkout, and every page under this domain. By using the Service, planting a flag, or completing a payment, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service and do not pay for a country.
The Service is operated by Galaxy Labs Limited, a company registered in New Zealand (“we”, “us”). Legal notices, takedown requests and questions about these Terms: contact@mapster.io.
MapAds is a paid public board. You may pay to place your logo, your name and a link on a country, and to hold that country until someone pays more to take it. Placements are paid advertisements. They are not editorial selections, reviews, certifications, endorsements, rankings of quality, or any statement by us about a product or company.
A payment buys the country at the price shown when your payment is confirmed, for as long as nobody takes it from you. It does not buy traffic, clicks, visitors, customers, revenue, a minimum duration, exclusivity, search-engine ranking, or any other outcome. Someone else can pay more and take the country at any time.
Every country has a floor price by tier. An unclaimed country costs its floor. A country that is already held costs 1.5× what the current holder paid, rounded up, and never less than the floor. The price you will pay is shown before you pay it.
Stakes are bounded: a minimum of $3 and a maximum of $999,999 per claim. We may change floors, tiers and the multiplier for future claims. A change never alters a payment already completed, and never retroactively raises what you already paid.
The first 2 countries may be claimed free under a launch offer. A free claim is still a placement under these Terms, can be taken from you the same way, and confers no refund rights because no money changed hands.
Checkout is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s own terms apply to the payment itself. Prices are in US dollars and, unless stated at checkout, exclude any tax that may apply to you.
Completing checkout is an offer to buy a placement on these Terms. Your flag goes up only when Stripe confirms the payment and our systems record it — not when you are redirected back to the site.
If your flag is taken, you are not refunded. That is the game, it is stated before you pay, and losing a country to someone who paid more is the product working as described. The same applies if you later dislike your position, the traffic, or the board.
If you pay and do not get the country, you have not bought anything. This happens when someone takes a country while your payment is in flight. Your claim is held in an unresolved state and settled by hand: we will either refund you in full or, if you prefer, apply the amount to another country. Contact us at contact@mapster.io if you believe this has happened and you have not heard from us.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where those apply to you, or under a mandatory consumer protection in your own country. Where you acquire a placement for the purposes of a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act may not apply to that supply.
Raising a chargeback instead of contacting us first is a breach of these Terms; we may remove the placement and decline future business.
You may only place a destination you own or are authorised to represent. You confirm that the destination and everything you submit is lawful, accurate, not impersonating anyone, and not malware, phishing or a site whose purpose is to deceive.
The following are not allowed and are removed without refund:
Submitted text is bounded: a name of 2–40 characters and an optional motto up to 80. Links must be https. We strip tracking and affiliate parameters from the URL you submit, and we resolve link shorteners to judge the real destination.
We may refuse, hide, edit or permanently remove any placement, with or without notice, where we believe these Terms or the law have been broken, where a rights holder complains, or where a placement creates legal, security or reputational risk. Removal for breach does not entitle you to a refund.
Country outlines come from Natural Earth (admin-0), a public-domain dataset, by way of the world-atlas package. We render that dataset as published. We do not hand-edit boundaries, and we do not add or remove territories.
Where a border is contested, what you see is the dataset’s depiction and not a statement by us about any territorial claim, sovereignty or dispute. The same applies to which places appear as countries and which appear as ordinary land: that follows the dataset and our catalogue of what is for sale, not a political position.
If you think an outline is wrong, tell us at contact@mapster.io and we will check that we have rendered the dataset faithfully. We will not make one-off edits to a border on request; corrections to the data itself belong upstream with Natural Earth, and we will pick them up when we next regenerate the map.
To show a placement we fetch and display publicly available material identifying the destination — its favicon or logo and its domain name. We use it only to identify where a placement leads. That is nominative use: we do not adopt it as our own brand, and we do not suggest that the rights holder sponsors or endorses MapAds unless the rights holder is the one who placed it.
MapAds, its wordmark, its map and the look of the Service are ours. You may not copy the Service or scrape the board to build a competing product.
By placing a flag you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, cache, resize and publicly display your name, motto, colour, link and logo on the Service, and to keep them in the flag log as a permanent public record of who held a country and when. The flag log is the history of the board and is not deleted when a placement ends. Taking a placement down does not undo a completed payment.
If you believe a placement infringes your rights or leads somewhere unlawful, email contact@mapster.io with your contact details, the country concerned, the destination, what the problem is, and confirmation that you are the rights holder or authorised to act. We may remove or restrict a placement while we look into it, and we may pass your notice to the person who placed it.
Appearance on the board is not our opinion of anything. We do not verify the claims, prices or quality of what is placed. Visitor counts, click counts and country figures shown on the Service describe what our systems recorded in the past. They are estimates, they are derived from IP-based geolocation which can be wrong or deliberately masked, and they are not a prediction or a promise of what you will receive.
The Service is provided as-is. It may be unavailable, slow or wrong. We may change the board, the rules, the prices or these Terms. Material changes update the date at the top of this page. The Terms in force at checkout govern that payment.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any count, name, logo or figure shown is accurate or complete.
Nothing here limits liability that applicable law says cannot be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that:
You will indemnify us against claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your placement, your destination, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of anyone else’s rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand, except where a mandatory consumer protection in your own country says otherwise, in which case that protection still applies to you.
